Speaking of pets...

We got a puppy yesterday, through the INCREDIBLE generosity and kindness of my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law. She is a Goldendoodle, which is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle, and before you all start freaking out about her poodle heritage, let me provide some pictures:
She remains, as of Christmas morning, nameless. We're open to ideas.

See? Much more golden than poodle. She won't shed, but her coat is going to be a slightly wavy golden retriever's coat; some of her siblings resemble the poodle parent more, so they will be curlier (not for us), but they had blue skin which was kind of cool. At any rate...

I'll end with another picture of Cass, who is staying in the Elizabeth Woods collection, but whom we still adore, and who is still a profoundly good dog, unreplaceable.

Everything a baby should be

Kate and Josh had their baby, Thomas Robert Hart, on Sunday at 7:38 pm. He is beautiful, he is perfect, and he is among the most wanted children in the history of the world. Chris and I can't wait to meet him when we get home. This picture comes from the Harts' blog joshandkatehart.blogspot.com.

Pictures circa Thanksgiving

Delilah helps to make the dinner:

And Thomas helps us eat the dinner...

Turkey, mangled. It was a good bird.

The Boxer, Cass, is Chris' dog, who is on loan from the Elizabeth Woods collection. Cass is a profoundly good dog, and she has kept my mood aloft since she came here.

We theorize that these two get on so well because they're both brindle. Thomas thinly tolerates Cass; thus, there are no extant pictures of them together.
